King's Budget Charters offers you the finest in professionally guided fishing on the world famous Kenai River. We take pride in that we do things creatively. Our guiding operation is owned and operated by Jeff and M.P. King, longtime Soldotna residents. The personal touch is our hallmark and we use the word "Budget" only because we're certain that our service represents the best value for your sport fishing dollar.

The Kenai Rivers glacial fed waters are home to trophy class salmon, fantastic fishing. The Kenai-Soldotna area is the center for all outdoor recreation opportunities on the Kenai Peninsula, close to halibut fishing, clam beaches, the wildlife Refuge and too many lakes and streams to mention. We are located a beautiful three hour drive from Anchorage or you can arrive by regularly scheduled commuter flights. Once you arrive you will see why the Kenai is such a popular destination, we feel that fishing here should be part of every Alaskan adventure. Our river is famous for its world record salmon so expect to fish around other anglers...plain and simple, it's exciting!

We specialize in large King (Chinook) and Silver (Coho salmon.) The Kings here are just tremendous, the 97.4 pound world record was caught on May 17th,1985 although the average fish is more like 35-45 pounds. We fish Kings from May 10th until the season closes on July 31st. We then move directly to fishing for the aggressive and airborne Silvers that many say are the most fun fishing they've ever done. These Silvers average 10-18 pounds and are available in August and September. On even number years Pink Salmon are a bonus while silver fishing.

Only quality rods, reels, and bait are furnished as well as raingear if needed. Jeff is Coast Guard licensed and has the guiding experience to put you in the best possible position to catch the salmon of a lifetime. You will appreciate our unique personable service and fun loving atmosphere.

We also own Stewarts Landing Boat Launch and Camping at mile 14 of the Kenai river. For you motorhomers we have Riverside Parking and 1200 feet of private riverbank for sockeye, silver, Pink and trout fishing. For your Lodging needs I will gladly furnish recommendations and insight for places that our customers have found to be wonderful and affordable. Completely furnished cabins, B+B rooms or traditional Hotel rooms.
